The KRS team is looking for dynamic individuals that are highly self-motivated to join our timber preservation crew and enjoy a rewarding career, while traveling nationwide. The position involves continuous travel from job to job throughout the United States in company vehicles with rapid advancement opportunities. Crew schedules are 6 work weeks on, (with weekends) followed by a week off.
Compensation
The average starting wage for this role will be between $23.65 - $26.75 per hour ($60,000 - $90,000 per year), commensurate with experience. Our weekly lodging allowance is $735/ per week and will be paid according to policy guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Extensive hand shoveling/digging around ground line of timber bridges using D-handle spade/shovel, sharpshooter/shovel, crowbar and pry bar
- Apply wood preservative treatments and install plugs with hammer
- Drill holes using 1/2" drill and generator
- Learn to use climbing equipment (lineman gear)
- Walk up and down steep slopes on rough ground
- Inspect timber bridge and make notes about condition

Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current Driver's License with a favorable driving record (Limited Class A CDL-no airbrakes, is preferred and commands a premium rate)
- Base knowledge in heavy physical labor (farming, military, ranching, utility work, construction, fence building, hand digging, outdoor labor, heavy landscaping, roofing, etc)
- No fear of heights with previous exposure to heights
- Ability to successfully complete gas mask, lead exposure, respirator usage and Fall Protection training programs
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- This position involves heavy lifting of up to 70 pounds; long hours of standing, walking, and climbing on remote jobsites; Jobsites can be noisy. Ability to read and write are required as the position involves recording of data.
- This position involves routine exposure to outside weather conditions and work is performed at heights of up to 300'.
- Occasional work around fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals as well as sources of electricity
