What Jardeg is Hiring for:

Jardeg is recruiting for Pipeline Labourers  to join the team at MEG Energy Capital Projects on site near Conklin, Alberta. Temporary full time positions on 8/6 shift rotation. Drive-in/ drive-out to site with Travel Allowance provided.

  • Currently a $500 ($250 each way) Travel Allowance is offered with requirement to drive to and from site each shift.

Responsibilities: Pipeline Labourers perform various general civil construction activities such as below but are not limited to:

Welded Wire Mesh:

Place and secure rebar on construction projects in horizontal and vertical formworks. Identify the different sizes, lengths and bend types of rebar

Perform physical work like packing, tying and cutting rebar with specialty tools for the trade and placing rebar chairs appropriately.

Formwork Installation:

Assemble, set up, and dismantle formwork according to blueprints and project requirements.

Ensure accuracy and precision in formwork placement to meet project specifications.

Assist in the installation of reinforcing steel bars (rebar) when necessary.

General Site Cleanup:

Keep the site clean, prepare and set up for concrete pour.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all Graham safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Material Handling:

Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment to and from the work site.

Shoveling and moving gravel.

Organize and maintain a clean and orderly workspace.

Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with other team members, including concrete finishers, carpenters, and supervisors.

Follow instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively with coworkers.

Requirements:

  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of construction techniques and materials.
  • Familiarity with rebar and welded wire mesh installation.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent may be required.
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS- 2020) Certification
  • H2S Alive
  • Fall Protection
  • Confined Space (preferred)
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean 3 Year Driver's Abstract
  • Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Prior experience in formwork installation and rebar.
  • Industrial construction experience and able to read drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations.

Working Conditions:

This position primarily involves outdoor work on construction sites, which may expose individuals to various weather conditions and physical hazards. Flexible working hours and occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
