Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repair of heavy construction and maintenance equipment such as plow/sanding trucks, loaders, and light support gear.
- Follow manufacturer and internal maintenance programs and inspection procedures.
- Engage and participate in Ledcor safety policies and procedures.
- Complete maintenance records and documentation as required.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician ticket (on-road and off-road) or be an experienced, registered Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician from a recognized provincial authority.
- Previous experience working with heavy civil construction, highway paving, or highway maintenance equipment (e.g., snowplows) is an asset.
- Licensed CVIP mechanic would be an asset.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to provide a 3-year driver’s abstract.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, potentially accompanied by sketches and diagrams.
- Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
Work Conditions:
- Work is based in various locations across Alberta, with some travel to field operations on a limited basis.
- Preference may be given to applicants residing in Grande Prairie due to the nature of the work.
- LHL responds to various weather patterns, so shift work, on-call duties, and night shifts may be required.
