Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repair of heavy construction and maintenance equipment such as plow/sanding trucks, loaders, and light support gear.
  • Follow manufacturer and internal maintenance programs and inspection procedures.
  • Engage and participate in Ledcor safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete maintenance records and documentation as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician ticket (on-road and off-road) or be an experienced, registered Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician from a recognized provincial authority.
  • Previous experience working with heavy civil construction, highway paving, or highway maintenance equipment (e.g., snowplows) is an asset.
  • Licensed CVIP mechanic would be an asset.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to provide a 3-year driver’s abstract.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, potentially accompanied by sketches and diagrams.
  • Must be able to work under minimal supervision.

Work Conditions:

  • Work is based in various locations across Alberta, with some travel to field operations on a limited basis.
  • Preference may be given to applicants residing in Grande Prairie due to the nature of the work.
  • LHL responds to various weather patterns, so shift work, on-call duties, and night shifts may be required.
  • Benefits provided by CLAC, including Health, Dental, RSP, and Pension plans.
