Cooper Machinery Services is hiring experienced Mechanics to work with natural gas engines and compressor systems in St. Rose, LA. This shop-based role involves mechanical assembly, testing, and maintenance of heavy equipment in the Oil & Gas sector. Ideal for mechanically inclined professionals who are comfortable working with complex equipment and performing in physically demanding environments.

What you’ll need:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years mechanical repair or heavy equipment experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Familiarity with mechanical tooling, blueprints, and hydro testing
  • Forklift and crane certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to work in high-heat environments

What will make you stand out:

  • Knowledge of natural gas compressor cylinders
  • Ability to work independently per engineering specifications
  • Experience with hydro pressure testing and functional testing
  • Strong safety and documentation practices
