We are looking to hire a Heavy Equipment Technician, offering a starting hourly rate of $50/hour, $5000 sign-on bonus available (6 month incentive-based bonus; ask for more details).
Role Description
Heavy equipment technicians are key members of our Maintenance Team. you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of our fleet.
Our current Fleet includes:
- Freightliner and Mack are our primary chassis selections in addition to Peterbilt, Hino, Ford and GM
- Side-Load, rear-load and front trucks (kept clean and maintained)
- Roll-off trucks, Highway tractors, Cube-vans, Pickup trucks
- Light and heavy-duty trailers
- Forklifts and telehandlers
Qualifications for the Ideal Candidate:
- Experience an asset but training will be provided to the right candidate.
- Journeyman's Certificate as a Heavy Equipment Technician
- Minimum Class 5 License (Air Brake Endorsement is an Asset)
- Class 3 License (is considered an asset)
- CVIP License (or the ability to obtain one)
- A positive attitude, Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Familiar with computerized diagnostics
- Able to lift 50+ lbs., maneuvering in confined spaces, and working on truck roofs and underneath equipment
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Maintenance Manager
- Keen ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
- Complete all documentation and records associated with equipment repairs.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Effectively complete assigned work orders and detail repairs carried out for the maintenance records.
- Must be a good team worker with the ability to work independently when required.
