What Cameco Corporation is Hiring for:

As a member of the technical services team, project delivery office, you will report to the technical manager, technical services.

The commissioning lead is responsible for the planning and safe execution of commissioning and start-up activities to ensure safe, successful, and effective start-up of all projects within the technical services portfolio in accordance with Cameco’s processes, procedures, standards and regulatory requirements. You will ensure that design, construction, and operational readiness of the new or modified facilities/assets are systematically tested for fit and purpose and they are turned over to operation in a ready to operate state. You will provide leadership, supervision, and oversight to commissioning teams, involve key stakeholders, coordinate resources, and integrate project knowledge with construction, commissioning, and operations as well.

You will ensure safety is at the forefront of all activities performed.

Requirements of the position:

  • Engineering technologist diploma
  • Certified engineering technologist
  • Ten or more years of relevant work experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
  • Strong planning, scheduling, organization, and communication skills
  • Intermittent travel to Cameco’s northern sites

Assets:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
  • Experience in the mining industry
