Journeyperson Mechanics Needed in Edmonton, AB (Starting Rate of $43.87/Hr) 10 Hour Shifts from Monday to Thursday

Rate: $46.09
$2.00 Premium for nightshift
$2.00 Truck/ Trailer CVI ticket
$0.50 for First Aid ticket
B620 experience an asset.
Schedule
Night shift available: Monday to Thursday - 8 pm to 6:30 am.
Job Details
- Ability to perform CVIP inspections.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems and recommend custom solutions.
- Ability to perform mechanical repairs as required.
- Demonstrates the ability to plan and prioritize work and material requirements and operate independently.
- Expected to play a leading role in implementing and promoting workplace safety and professionalism and recommend positive workplace change
- Demonstrate ability to read and understand written instructions and communications and write job reports, work order summaries, and other record-keeping functions.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems (troubleshoot)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, exercise good judgment and common sense and conduct him/herself professionally.
- Demonstrated good interpersonal and oral communication skills
Responsibilities
- Preventative maintenance on the truck, but must be open to work on trailers as well.
- Preventative maintenance on checking tires, wheels, brakes, air systems, clutch/linkage, starting system, electrical system, PM's, electrical work, brakes, suspension and product pump rebuilds.
- Follow safety and use of proper PPE.
- Safe and professional work practices are mandatory.
- Must be physically fit and of reasonable strength and endurance to perform the duties required in a tanker trailer shop operation.
- Able to perform duties in all weather conditions.
- Follow procedures.
Qualifications
- Red Seal is an asset.
- CVIP Certification is an asset.
- Two years verifiable mechanic experience.
- Operation of hand and air tools.
- Journeyman HD Mechanic required
- Grade 12 graduate.
- Full understanding of all relevant safety and compliance regulations, policies, and generally accepted work practices relating to tanker trailer shop operations.
- Computer keyboarding skills and a basic understanding of computer business systems are required.
