Journeyman Pipefitters Wanted in Alberta: $48.00/hr, 5 & 2, 10hr Shifts & More

CEDA is looking for Journeyman Pipefitters for short term maintenance work in the Bonnyville AB area. Position open to local candidates.

This position is open to direct service providers (DSP)

What we Offer:

• Competitive rate of $48/hour
• Project expected to last 2 months 
• Shift: 5x2 with 10 hour days and lots of opportunity for overtime!

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Install new mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, air dryers, converters, heat exchangers, relief valves, pressure-reducing valves, condensate tanks, recirculation pumps, booster pumps, pneumatic controls, coils, isolation valves, 3-way valves, condensate traps)
• Fabricate piping/equipment supports, brackets, guides
• Fit up and prepare piping requiring welded joints
• Liaise and collaborate with other trades, consultants and suppliers
• Cleans condensate traps and equipment strainers
• Provides occasional guidance to the primary function of others, including training.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
• Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
• Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
• Thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
• Test system for leaks using testing equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications:

• Journeyman Pipefitter/Steamfitter (Red Seal preferred), will consider 3rd or 4th year apprentice status 
• H2S Alive and CSO or CSTS required. First Aid, Confined Space, Fall Arrest and Aerial Work Platform (AWP) considered an asset.
• Receptive to change and can adapt to changing circumstances
• Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
