What North American Construction Group is Hiring for:

NACG is looking for Journeyman (Journeyperson) Welders to join our team!

  • Site: Kearl
  • Schedule: 14x14 (Days and nights)
  • Accommodations: Camp provided
  • Transportation: Flights provided to and from Edmonton or Calgary
  • Overtime: Currently at Kearl they have blended rates with no overtime
  • Hourly Rate: Up to $61.86 per hour
  • Daily Attraction Bonus: Kearl is offering a daily attraction bonus for days worked at $85/day
  • Kearl Advantage: Kearl is offering a travel allowance per rotation. Amount determined based on location. Travel allowances will be paid to/from location.

Scope of Work: Maintenance repair of heavy equipment, Ice lugging and fabrication.

The successful candidate will be required to join the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955. 

Responsibilities

  • Fleet repairs including Frame/Dump body repairs, Dozer ice lugging, Pin lancing, Implement rprs and Crack gouging/repairs.
  • Fabrication of various items, Numbers, signs, Stands or whatever needed for the Maintenance/Ops groups
  • Indoors/Outdoors work as needed

Specific Requirements:

  • Heavy Equipment repair experience required  (Trucks/Dozers/Shovels/Excavators)
  • Trained and experienced with Stick, MIG and large wire-feed welders, radiograph, Cooper-heat, Plasma cutter, Lance, overhead and/or mobile truck cranes as well as other tools of the trade

Qualifications

  • Red Seal/Alberta Journeyman (Journeyperson) Welder

Summary

All successful candidates must:

  1. Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  2. Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  3. Have experience as requested as mentioned above
  4. Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  5. Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
  6. Breath Alcohol TestUrine Drug TestFitness-to-Work AssessmentAudiometric TestingVision ScreeningCriminal Record Check

Shift, site, and start times are subject to change.

All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date:

  1. CSO or BSO Certification
  2. Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  3. Copy of recent Driver’s Abstract
  4. VOID cheque/direct deposit form
  5. Silica Awareness
  6. Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness
