309A Electricians - All Levels

Location: Greater Toronto Hamilton Area, Ontario Canada. 

Position: Full time

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of heavy industrial electrical applications
• Tests electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Installs, examines, replaces, or repairs AC/DC Motors and Drives, PLC's, 480-600V power, 120V control circuits, 4160-volt switchgear, transformers, motors, starters, relays, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical controls.
• Installs, examines, replaces, or repairs electrical systems including but not limited to: ladder tray, instrument tray, grounding and bonding, teck cables, PLC and JB panel wiring, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
• Sizes and installs electrical circuits including panels, wire size and type, tray or conduit, protective devices, switches, and related equipment needed to comply with the CEC and/or NEC.
• Fabricates, installs and/or runs ladder tray & conduit systems, 3-Phase work, motor terminations, control and instrument troubleshooting and panel work.

Experience

• Must possess heavy industrial (ie: oil & gas, mining, etc.) experience. 

Certificates & Licences

• Must be a Registered Electrical Apprentice or a certified Journeyperson with valid licensing in Ontario.  

Skills & Aptitudes

• Must be able to take initiative, work independently as well as in a team. 
• Must be reliable and dependable (i.e.: punctual and ready to work).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Have a demonstrated ability to work safely.

Ticket Requirements

• Must have valid safety tickets (Fall Arrest/Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid )
• AWP/MEWP is an asset. 
• A valid Class 5 driver's license is required.
