What You’ll Like About This Job

Vale Base Metals is hiring certified heavy equipment mechanics for its Stobie Open Pit operation in Sudbury, ON. Working on a 7-on/7-off rotation, this role covers diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of underground mobile equipment in a mining environment. Candidates must hold a recognized trade certificate and have experience with hydraulic and 24 VDC systems.

What you’ll need:

Valid trade certification: 421A, 310S, 310T, or 425A
Minimum Grade 12 or GED
Experience with hydraulic systems, 24 VDC control wiring, and mobile equipment brakes
Strong safety record and willingness to work rotating shifts

What will make you stand out:

Background in open-pit or underground mining maintenance
Welding experience (non-pressure)
Ability to troubleshoot both electric and hydraulic systems in the field
Strong teamwork and communication in high-stakes environments
