What Predator Drilling is Hiring for:

Predator Drilling is looking to fill the following Experienced positions for various locations across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario:

  • Rig Managers
  • Drillers
  • Derrickhands
  • Motorhands
  • Floorhands
  • Commercial Class 1 Drivers
  • Boiler Operators
  • Crew Truck Drivers (winter season only)

The duties of the Drilling Crews include but are not limited to:

  • Execute and promote the Company’s Safety Program and ensure all employees, service personnel and visitors adhere to Predator safety standards and policies, as well as government safety regulations.
  • Ensure that the crew is continually training in the optimum safe performance of their duties
  • Properly taking care of personnel protection and mechanical equipment by conducting on-the-job training.
  • Responsible to condition the drilling fluid and maintaining mud pumps.
  • Ensures that preventative maintenance is performed on all equipment above the drill floor and all equipment associated with the drilling fluid system.
  • Inspect shale shakers, mud agitators, hoses, connectors, trash pumps and suction line pulsation dampeners daily to ensure proper working order.
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean.
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance is performed on all equipment.
  • Location: Remote locations within Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario

Safety tickets - A minimum of:

  • Valid H2S Alive
  • Standard First Aid
  • CSO
  • All safety tickets must be current and/or obtained prior to the job

Requirements:

  • Coring and/or Preset experience an asset

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada

  • Be available on short notice

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Have the means to financially support themselves for lodging/meals for non-camp (subsistence paid bi- weekly)

  • Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment Testing (arranged by Predator Drilling Crew Coordinator)

  • 12 hr rotational shifts

Dependent on position: 

  • 1-3 years experience, certifications, tickets
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and locations.
  • Be physically fit, hardworking, and able to follow instructions.
  • Support all functions of the crew and report to the Rig Manager.
  • Able to work in a crew environment.
  • Must be willing to travel and be away from home for long durations.
  • Mechanical aptitude is an asset.

We offer year-round work but Peak season ranges from November - April, but may change with minimal notice.

We are looking for candidates that are seeking seasonal employment with the potential of full-time work.

Rates range from $35-50/hr. (rates set by CAOEC), based on position.

Subsistence:

$185.00/day - Non-Camp & $60.00/day - with Camp.

  • Rig Manager - (Pay based on experience and will be discussed in the interview)
  • Driller - $50.00/hr (CAOEC)
  • Derrickhand - $43.50/hr (CAOEC)
  • Motorhand - $38.00/hr (CAOEC)
  • Floorhand - $36.00/hr (CAOEC)
  • Leasehand - $35.00/hr (CAOEC)
  • Commercial Class 1 Drivers - $38.00/hr
