Gas Utility Worker - City of Medicine Hat

The City of Medicine Hat Gas Distribution System works every day to meet the energy needs of our 26,000 customers safely, reliably, and affordably. We have an entry level, skilled labourer position for the operation, repair, maintenance, and construction of gas distribution facilities. This will include cutting weeds, painting regulating stations and meter sets, assisting with meter and service installations.

• Working knowledge of the practices, procedures, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance of gas distribution facilities.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Grade 12 or higher school equivalency diploma.
• One (1) year relevant, recent experience in gas pipeline maintenance or in construction work in Gas Operations.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Alberta Vehicle Operator's License with a satisfactory (6 demerits or less) driving record.
• Acquire and maintain valid First Aid, CPR, and WHMIS certificates. Must be willing to obtain an Alberta Polyfusion Certificate.
• An equivalent combination of management approved training, education and experience may be considered.
