Apprentice Pipefitters/Welders for its Fab Shop located in Edmonton. 

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Apprentice Pipefitters/Welders include, but are not limited to:

• Must be able to read and interpret isometric drawings
• Measuring, cutting, threading and bending pipe as required
• Fitting up and preparing welded piping joints as directed by the journeyperson 
• Must be able to pipe grind and prep material
• Familiarity with rigging and hoisting material using proper techniques while abiding by safety protocols  
• Fabricating piping/equipment supports, guides and brackets as per provided specification.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid pipefitting or welding apprenticeship with AIT
• Pipe grinding and bolting experience is required.
• Rigging and hoisting experience is required.
• Pipe cutting experience with Oxy/Actyl is required. 
• Assist journeyman as needed and must be a team player.
• Must have experience interpreting and reading blueprints and constructions drawings. 
• Experience in a pipe fabrication shop is required.
• CSTS-09 and WHMIS are required.
• First Aid and Fall Arrest are an asset.
• Physically demanding work conditions.
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support.
• Successful candidates are required to have personal reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Candidates must successfully complete orientation.
• May be subject to Criminal Record checks depending on site requirements.
