About the Role:
As a vital member of our team, the role involves undertaking a diverse range of tasks that require robust manual labor, particularly in heavy concrete construction projects. The position includes the preparation of surfaces for paving, showcasing a commitment to precision and quality workmanship. The incumbent will provide essential labor support to specialty crews as needed, contributing to the seamless execution of various project components.
As an Equipment Operator Laborer at Graham, you will:
- Execute a range of tasks, involving strenuous manual labor, on heavy concrete construction projects, including the preparation of surfaces for paving
- Uphold a clean job site by diligently picking up and securing all tools and equipment daily to eliminate potential hazards
- Manage materials handling and storage efficiently
- Offers labor support as required for specialty crews
- Proficiently load and unload trucks, as well as haul and hoist materials during various project phases
- Ensure strict adherence to safety and incident reporting procedures, promptly bringing any issues to the attention of the Foreman, Safety Manager, or Human Resources
Qualifications & Experience:
- Demonstrate ability to lift heavy objects, endure prolonged periods of walking and standing, and perform strenuous physical labor in challenging field conditions
- Exhibit strong manual dexterity and multilimbed coordination
- Flexibility to work overtime, including nights and weekends, as needed to meet project schedules
- Possesses a foundational understanding of construction processes and procedures
- Familiarity with a diverse range of construction tools and equipment
- Advantageous to have prior experience in construction or a related field
- Hands-on experience in materials handling, loading and unloading, and site cleanup
- Knowledgeable about the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively within a diverse team of construction professionals
- Preferred experience in pipe laying
