Job Details
The Shop Hand is responsible for performing daily shop duties and make decisions concerning prioritization in accomplishing assigned tasks
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Trican's core value, "Safe equipment and operations" is the priority in all activities
- Ensure the shop is clean and organized at all times
- Operate overhead hoist
- Operate forklift
- Maintain and operate various power hand tools
- Work extended hours periodically and be available for after-hours call-ins
- Report any safety or mechanical deficiencies or other areas of concern to supervisor
- Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Occasional hot shots of parts or equipment to field locations
Experience & Skills:
- Valid Class 5 Driver's licence is required
- High school diploma is an asset
- Safe driving skills; driver’s abstract will be requested
- Physically fit – heavy lifting required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong leadership and managerial skills
- Skilled in problem-solving techniques

Working Conditions:
- Monday to Friday schedule
- On call 24-hours during shift
- Must live near base of employment
- Pre-employment medical testing required
