In this role you’ll work side-by-side with some of the most talented operators in the energy industry to perform work that supports smooth and efficient operations of our Upgrading U1 Coker assets.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience in plant operations such as heavy oil processing, sour gas processing, water treatment/power plants or refinery operations
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to make timely decisions associated with process upsets
- 4th Class Power Engineering certification; ABSA certified or 4th Class Power Engineering Exam Part A
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Responsibilities:
- Follow operating processes & procedures to ensure the safety of our people, equipment, and environment
- Prepare & complete daily area logs and communicate significant changes and findings
- Perform required plant operation duties and communicate all shift changes clearly & effectively
- Ensure timely action and process adjustments during plant upsets that are consistent with operational objectives and target outputs
- Prepare equipment and systems for maintenance and commissioning
Location and other Key Details:
- You will work out of our Base Plant site in Fort McMurray, Alberta
- The shift schedule is a 6 days on / 6 days off rotation (3 days on, 3 nights on, 6 days off; 12-hour shifts)
- This position is safety sensitive
- You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use of ladders and working on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
