What Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) is Hiring for:

Grow and develop your Mine Maintenance Electrician expertise at Canadian Natural! As a valuable member of the Horizon Oil Sands mining project, you will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient and quality workmanship in the technical repair of mining shovels, trucks, graders and associated equipment.

You will provide leadership and performance feedback to fellow team members while collaborating with our planning group to scope out routine and major jobs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Identify and secure resources required for planned tasks, such as parts, equipment, materials, special tools, and work procedures
  • Work effectively with the mining team members to meet turnaround targets and minimize down time of critical parts and equipment
  • Provide technical assistance in troubleshooting of electrical equipment
  • Ensure work is adequately documented in the work order system (E1)
  • Identify recurring problems and document so that an engineered solution can be provided

  • Job location: Horizon Oil Sands - Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Eligible for relocation pursuant to Canadian Natural’s Relocation Regular Policy
  • Company sponsored Fly-In/Fly-Out from Calgary or Edmonton
  • Shift schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off, 12-hour shifts

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Typically 5+ years of related industry experience with Alberta Journeyman Electrical Trade qualification or Inter-Provincial Electrical Trade Certification
  • Familiarity with and understanding of:
  • Working in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Electric mining shovels, Electric haul trucks, power distribution systems and PLC control systems
  • High Voltage switching and troubleshooting trailing cables in an open pit application
  • Low, medium and high voltage electrical equipment
  • Large powered motors, starters and isolating equipment, as well as small and large powered VFD drives
