What Ledcor is Hiring for:

Apprentice or Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician

Location: Fort McMurray at Suncor Base Plant

Project: Industrial oil & gas

Pay: Competitive Wages + Benefits

Duration: 3-5 years

LOA: $50 per day

Essential Responsibilities:

Implementing continuous improvements, and supporting new system installations, production strategies, and plant reliability.
Assemble, install, remove, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic mobile equipment components.
Must be capable in analyzing conditions, technical troubleshooting through the process, identifying and repairing mechanical and electrical issues.
Perform predictive maintenance on equipment to enhance uptime conditions.
Completes preventative maintenance and other reliability tasks, assist in diagnostics, repairs, and rebuilds of machines, partner with engineering or others on non-routine repairs and defect handling solutions
Provide support to PM Mechanics and Maintenance technicians
Perform diagnostics and repairs on various Hydraulic & Diesel equipment both Marine and Land.
Assists & trains employees in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, diesel and pneumatic maintenance and the repair of machinery and equipment.
Assist with maintenance reporting and other documentation as required
Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
Ensuring compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures

Experience

Previous experience on an industrial site is an asset

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear.
The employee will lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Competencies

Must have demonstrated ability to follow instructions

Pre-employment

Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing

Work Conditions:

Transportation service available from Fort McMurray to the site
Various shift rotations 14 days on /7 days off, 14 days on / 14 days off or 7 days on /7 days off schedule, working 10 to 12 hours per day
Benefits provided by CLAC
Work will be outdoors under various weather conditions
