Derrickhand -

Stampede is looking for well qualified Derrickhands to join our team. We have spots available for rigs in both camp and non-camp locations. We thank everyone for their interest, however only those best suited will be contacted for an interview.

DERRICKHAND

The primary duties of the Derrickhand is maintaining proper drilling fluid characteristics, the rate of fluid circulation, mud handling equipment, and the preventative maintenance program. Additionally, the Derrickhand is responsible for the work done above the rig floor.

 Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist and train Motorhands, Floorhands and Leasehands as required;
  • Assist in drill line slip-and cut program;
  • Assist in moving the rig and camp, rigging up and rigging out;
  • Learn and be knowledgeable of and adhere to the Company's Safety Policies, as outlined in the HSE Manual;
  • Set an example to fellow crew members and employees to adhere to HSE policies, and safe work practices;
  • Participate in weekly safety meetings, rig inspections, and Hazard I.D. Program;
  • All other duties as instructed by Driller or Rig Manager.

 Qualifications and Abilities

  • Must hold all regulatory training and safety certificates as required;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude;
  • The ability to work in a team setting;
  • The ability to work in a fast passed physically demanding environment;
  • Must be able to complete and successfully pass a Pre-Employment Physical;
  • Must be able to successfully complete a Pre-Employment Substance Abuse test.

Floorhand / Roughneck - Saskatchewan

Position Summary:

The Floorhand is an integral part of the rig crew. Reporting to the Driller, this position is responsible for the following duties:

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Tripping pipe and making connections;
  • Ensure that the drill floor is kept clean and orderly at all times;
  • Inspect tongs for wear - ensuring proper working order;
  • Inspect pipe spinner for proper working order;
  • Inspect rotary table;
  • Assist Derrickhand in mixing mud and chemicals; 
  • Assist in maintenance and repair of machinery; 
  • Assist in moving the rig, rigging up and rigging out; 
  • Clean up and proper storage/placement of tools;
  • General upkeep of the rig including painting and cleaning as required.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to Company’s safety standards as outlined in our manual;
  • Take responsibility for personal safety and the safety of co-workers through active participation in weekly safety meetings, rig inspections, and hazard I.D.      programs;
  • Perform other duties as required by Driller or Rig Manager.

Qualifications and Abilities:

  • Must hold all regulatory training certificates as required - H2S Alive and First Aid at minimum;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude;
  • The ability to work in a team setting;
  • The ability to work in a fast passed physically demanding environment;
  • Must be able to complete and successfully pass a Pre-Employment Physical;
  • Must be able to successfully complete a Pre-Employment Substance Abuse Test.
