What Aecon is Hiring for:

Reporting into the appropriate site supervisor, the Welder will be responsible to produce welds that are both visually and mechanically sound and of high quality, ensuring Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. achieves their general and specific project objectives.

Shift Type: 5/2 shift, 10 hour days
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $102.76 per hour

Fort Saskatchewan, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

B-pressure Welding: 1 year (required)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Welding usually involves applying heat to metal pieces to melt and fuse them together
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
Operate brazing and soldering equipment
Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines
Join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components, make metal parts used in construction and manufacturing plants, and weld parts, tools, machines and equipment

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Certified Journeyman Ticket or indentured in the apprenticeship program
Able to weld structural and piping/vessels
Will need to pass an onsite weld exam plus weld 2 qualifiers
Manual dexterity
The ability to get along well with others on a work team
Must be willing to work in remote job locations
Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site

Ability to work a significant number of hours throughout the day
Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg
