- Expected duration of the project: Jan 2025 – Oct 2028.
- Schedule: 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off - 11.5hr days. You may be able to work up to 6 weeks straight, depending on job needs. Travel to and from Anchorage would be on your “off” days.
- Pay rates: We are paying rates competitive for the North Slope area, uplifted from our hourly rates for projects based in Texas. You can expect to earn very competitive wages while working a unique schedule that allows you to plan ahead and balance your home and work life.
- While working in Alaska, overtime (1.5x pay) is paid after 8 work hours in a day and over 40 straight time hours in a week.
- There is no per diem for this job because food and housing are provided to you while you’re on the slope working, so you have no temporary living expenses.
- Housing: While on the slope, employees will live in a man-camp location. Food: The camp housing also includes a dedicated chef who provides all meals and snacks for the day. Facilities: Specific amenities vary by man camp and we don't have specifics yet. Most camps include a gym area. All camps include laundry facilities (including detergent and materials) which are provided free of charge.
- Employee Costs:
- Flights & Hotels: Employees will be required to book and pay for their own flights and any hotels to/from their home location to Anchorage, Alaska. Once you arrive in Anchorage, we will provide your flight to the North Slope and all transportation on the slope. Cold-Weather Gear: Employees are required to provide their own cold-weather arctic gear. The cost of these supplies may average around $1,000 - $1,200. If hired, you will receive a full list of recommended clothing and gear.
- On this project, tools will be provided for craft so you will not have to fly with them.
- There is approximately 7 hours of pre-hire safety training required before you can fly to the North Slope. PCL will cover the cost of the training if you do not already have it, but you will not be paid for this time. If you have previously taken NSTC training or ASA training, you can show us proof of current certifications in lieu of taking the training through PCL.
- Pre-hire drug, alcohol, and background check is required.
- There is no alcohol allowed on the North Slope of Alaska. It is a dry community, and anyone found to be in possession of alcohol or with drugs that don’t have a valid prescription will be removed from the slope and not be allowed to return.
