100+ Welders B-Pressure Wanted ($45.29/hr, $140 LOA, 10hr Shifts, 60hrs/week, 10/4)

PCL Energy is seeking 100 Welders - B Pressure for Various Industrial Projects located throughout Alberta

Education: 

Credentials: Journeyperson Welder Trade Certificate, ABSA Pressure Ticket or equivalent B Pressure Ticket, CWB Structural Ticket and / or holds a recognized credential

Completion of a 3 year apprenticeship program or over 3 years work experience in the Welding trades and some Welding education

Work Conditions & Remuneration:

• Base $45.29 per hour as per collective bargaining agreement with trade union
• Total renumeration as per collective bargaining agreement with trade union
• $140 Live out allowance and generous travel allowance paid for those who qualify
• 10 on 4 off Shift rotations
• Day and Night shifts available
• 10 hours per day/night: 8 hours Regular Time and 2 hours Overtime per day worked
• Permanent position 40-60 hours a week
• Two 30-minute breaks (first break paid)

Job Duties and expectations: 

• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW)
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
• Operate brazing and soldering equipment
• Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines
• Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers.
• Welders may specialize in certain types of welding such as custom fabrication, pressure vessel welding, pipeline construction welding, structural construction welding, or machinery and equipment repair welding.
• Welding, brazing and soldering machine operators
• Operate previously set up welding machines such as spot, butt and seam resistance or gas and arc welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts
• Operate previously set up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal parts or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal articles with solder
• Assist with the maintenance and repair of welding, brazing and soldering equipment
• May adjust welding heads and tooling according to work specifications.
• Pre access Drug and Alcohol testing
